Candela

The app

Candela doesn't collect any data about you. It controls your displays locally and checks your license key on your Mac, without contacting a server. It uses the internet to check for and download updates, from updates.livoni.software and codeberg.org. Only the app's version is sent, and we count update checks per day and version to know roughly how many people use Candela. If you turn on Send crash reports (off by default), Candela sends a report to crash.livoni.software when it crashes or stops responding. It contains the app and macOS versions, the Mac model, its region format and where in Candela's code the problem happened, but nothing about you or your files. Update counts and crash reports are stored with Cloudflare, crash reports in the EU. Crash reports are deleted after a year.

Buying a license

Payments are handled by Link, Stripe's checkout, on behalf of Livoni Software. Stripe's privacy policy covers the payment, and we never see your card details.

From Stripe we receive your email address, your country and the details of your purchase. We use them to create your license key, which contains your email address, and to send it to you. We use providers for hosting and email, who only process the information on our behalf.

We keep this information for as long as we need it to help you with your license, and as long as Danish bookkeeping rules require.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data by writing to candela@livoni.software. You can also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet).
